I Can See Clearly Now

Who do you battle against?

Is it your spouse?

Your children?

A co-worker or a family member?

Maybe it’s a boss or even a neighbor? Oh my, is it someone at church?

Is it everyone?

Whomever it is, we all battle against someone, but it may surprise you to know what the Bible says about battle.

“Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.”
‭‭Ephesians‬ ‭6:10-12‬ ‭NIV‬‬

We are to battle?

We need armor?

We can take a stand?

Our struggle is against spiritual forces of evil?

If that’s true, then what can we do when it feels like we are battling our spouse or some other person in our daily life?

One practical step I have taken is to use something I do every day to remind me to pray for my husband. You can take parts of this idea and alter it to fit your situation.

Sometimes I feel like he and I are battling, but prayer is our most powerful source of strength in battle.

This may sound silly but when I make the bed, I turn our pillows with the opening toward each other. This tiny physical act reminds me to pray that he and I will ever increasingly open our hearts toward one another in love and prayer and life.

Something interesting happens when we begin to pray for the person we’re battling. We become invested in their well-being and joy and eternal destiny.

I strongly encourage you to read the rest of Ephesians chapter six which gives away the secrets of the powerful armor of God.

I want to help people. I'm here, I'm listening and I hope I can make a difference. I am eternally grateful for the people in my life who have always been willing to listen, pray for me and give guidance. I hope to pay it forward.
